Can glycerin be used for mouth ulcers during pregnancy?
Got these painful ulcers in my mouth since 2 days, cant even eat properly. Someone told me to apply glycerin but i dont want to use anything random now that im pregnant. Is it safe or should i just ask gynac?
Oh, mouth ulcers are so painful during pregnancy, I remember crying because of them! Applying a little glycerin with clean hands helped me a lot, but do ask your doctor once to be completely sure.
I totally understand how frustrating and painful those ulcers can be when you already have so much going on. Yes dear, glycerin is quite safe to apply directly, just dab a little bit gently.
Actually, glycerin is safe because it is not absorbed into the bloodstream. My doctor told me it's fine for mild ulcers, but advised me to check my B12 levels if the ulcers keep coming back.
I've heard from my elder sister that glycerin is safe to use for ulcers during pregnancy. Just apply a tiny bit on the ulcer and try not to swallow it.
Glycerin is a very cheap and effective home remedy compared to buying expensive mouth gels. Just use a tiny drop from a standard medical store bottle, and if it doesn't go away in a few days, ask your gynac during your routine visit.
I had bad mouth ulcers and used to dab glycerin on them, which worked nicely. Since you only apply a tiny bit locally, it shouldn't cause any harm, but definitely mention it to your gynac.
