Im 2 months pregnant and caught a bad cough thats not going away, sometimes its so harsh my tummy hurts. Getting worried if all this coughing can affect the baby. Did anyone go through this in early pregnancy?
Beta a simple cough is okay, baby is safe inside. Warm haldi milk and a little honey in warm water soothed the throat in our home. But if it goes on for many days or you get fever, please show the doctor.
For a mild cough I stuck to home stuff like warm water, ginger and honey, steam inhalation also helped. Avoid self medicating na. But for anything serious like fever or chest pain definitely see your gynac.
A normal cough wont harm the baby, it is well protected inside. I had a bad cough in both pregnancies and kids are fine. Just dont take any random cough syrup, ask your gynac for a safe one and rest up.
The cough itself is usually fine but be careful about which medicines you take. I always run any medicine by my doctor first. If there is high fever, breathlessness or it lingers too long, get it checked properly.
I caught a cough last week and got so worried the coughing might shake the baby. Did anyone else feel scared like this? I feel a bit better reading these replies.
