Can having coconut water during pregnancy reduce salt content?
I drink nariyal paani almost everyday now. My MIL said too much of it can reduce salt in body which isnt good. Is there any truth to this? thoda confused now.
Coconut water is great for hydration and I drank it almost daily, so refreshing. But it doesnt really reduce salt in your body as such. If you have swelling or salt worries, that's a doctor talk, not a coconut water fix.
I'd be careful with thinking any drink controls salt or BP. Coconut water is healthy yes, but if you're concerned about salt because of swelling or pressure, please get your BP checked rather than depend on this.
We drink a lot of coconut water down south, its cooling and good in pregnancy ma. It hydrates well. But for actual salt or sodium balance, listen to your doctor's diet advice, coconut water is just a nice extra.
I love coconut water, had it often. It wont reduce salt content though, that's not how it works. If salt is a concern for you, better to ask your doctor about your diet, especially if there's swelling.
