My hcg numbers came back lower than expected and im really anxious about it. The doctor mentioned wanting to rule out an ectopic and im going in for a scan soon. Has anyone had low hcg with a tubal? im quite scared honestly.
I know it's scary to wait and watch numbers. Low or slow rising hcg can happen for different reasons, not only tubal. Let your doctor monitor it properly with repeat bloods and a scan. And if you get sharp pain anywhere, go to the hospital right away.
My gynac explained that in a tubal pregnancy the hcg can rise abnormally, sometimes slower or lower than a normal pregnancy. But low hcg alone doesnt confirm anything, they look at the trend over days plus an ultrasound. Definitely a doctor's call, not a self diagnosis.
I went through a lot of hcg tracking with my pregnancies and honestly the numbers alone confused me more. Better not to assume from one reading. If you're worried about ectopic, please get the repeat tests and scan your doctor advises, dont wait.
Please dont try to figure this out from numbers at home, I learnt that the hard way. In an ectopic the hcg often rises slower or stays lower than expected, but only the doctor can confirm with scans. If you have any pain or spotting, go in immediately.
