Such a sweet thought has been on my mind, i keep wondering if at some point i can actually feel my baby's heartbeat myself. Im a new mom so just curious how this works. Pls share ur experience.
You see and hear it at scans and doppler checks, not by touching the belly. Later you will feel movements and kicks, which is different. Your gynac will let you hear the heartbeat at your visits, it is the best part of the appointment.
I will never forget the first time I saw that little flickering heartbeat on the scan, I felt tears come instantly. You hear it at appointments with the doppler, it sounds like a tiny galloping horse. Such a magical moment honestly.
My doctor said the heartbeat is usually first seen on an early scan around 6-7 weeks, and heard with a doppler a bit later. You cant really feel it with your hand though. The kicks and movements you feel later are different from the heartbeat itself.
