We have tulsi at home and i usually take a few leaves with water in mornings. Now in pregnancy im not sure if i should continue na. Is it fine or better to stop? pls share what u know.
Having 1 or 2 leaves of tulsi occasionally in your tea is perfectly fine for a cold, but avoid taking concentrated tulsi juice. For any severe cough or fever, please don't rely only on home tips and ask your doctor.
It is okay in very small amounts, but just like yoga poses and long walks, anything herbal should also be discussed with your doctor first. Every pregnancy has different comfort levels.
If you are using it for a quick home remedy for cold, a very mild tulsi and ginger tea is fine and saves a clinic trip. Just don't overdo it daily, and focus on keeping your workload light when you are unwell.
I use tulsi daily in my herbal tea and am currently trying to conceive. Do I need to stop taking it entirely, or is it only a concern after getting pregnant?
Arey, I also panicked after chewing a few tulsi leaves during my first trimester because of some scary articles online! But my doctor laughed and said minor amounts are absolutely harmless, so take a deep breath.
Humare ghar pe toh tulsi ko bahut pavan maante hain, par pregnancy me iska jada sevan nahi karte. Aap bas kabhi-kabhi ek-do patte chai me daal sakti hain, koi dikkat nahi hogi.
Hey, don't stress too much! Having a cup of ginger-tulsi chai when you have a sore throat is totally fine. Just don't eat it like a snack and you are good.
I had some tulsi tea yesterday for my cold and then read online that it might not be safe. Now I am super anxious, did anyone else consume holy basil in their second trimester?
With my twin pregnancy, I stayed away from anything extra warm like too much tulsi or raw papaya just to be safe. But honestly, a leaf or two in your daily chai won't turn things upside down, so chill.
I totally understand how we want to protect our little babies from even the smallest risk. It is safer to limit tulsi intake during these precious months, just to keep your sweet mind at peace.
