Can hot water lead to miscarriage in early pregnancy?
I had a hot water bath yesterday before i knew about the heat thing and now im panicking. Im only 6 weeks. My MIL told me to avoid hot water completely. Is there any truth to this or am i overthinking?
Drinking warm water is absolutely fine beta, dont panic. What u should avoid is very hot baths, saunas or sitting in very hot tubs for long, that raises body temperature too much. Normal warm drinking water has nothing to do with miscarriage.
I used to worry about every little thing too, honestly even warm water once made me nervous. My gynac laughed gently and said drinking warm water is safe. It was the long hot baths she told me to avoid, so I switched to lukewarm quick showers.
The concern is overheating the whole body, like very hot tub baths, not a glass of warm water. So normal warm water to drink is no problem. Just keep baths warm not scalding and u are good.
Drinking warm water didnt cause any issue for me. But since u sound worried, and miscarriage is sensitive, if u ever have bleeding or cramps please call ur gynac straight away rather than wondering. For the water part, relax, it is safe.
