I have hypothyroid from before and now I am pregnant, so I am scared if levels will keep changing. My TSH check is due soon. Anyone managed thyroid throughout pregnancy?
Yes totally, I had hypothyroid through my whole pregnancy. They just adjust your medicine dose and you do regular thyroid blood tests, mine was every 6-8 weeks. As long as you take the tablet daily and follow up, its very manageable.
It can definitely be controlled, lots of us manage it fine. The important part is regular monitoring since the dose can change. Dont self adjust, only your doctor should change it based on reports.
My doctor explained that the dose often needs increasing during pregnancy because the body demands more. The key is regular TSH monitoring and never skipping the morning tablet on empty stomach. Controlled well, it doesnt harm the baby.
Dont worry beta, hypothyroid in pregnancy is very common and well controlled with the daily tablet. Just be regular with it and your checkups, and you and baby will be perfectly fine.
