I was diagnosed with thyroid problem just before we started trying. Now im scared it will create issues in conceiving or later in pregnancy. Anyone here with hypothyroid who had a smooth pregnancy?
Hypothyroid doesnt block pregnancy, but it needs to be managed. Lots of women here have thyroid and healthy babies. The doctor usually adjusts ur dose during pregnancy itself, so regular checking is must.
It can make conceiving a bit harder if levels are off, but once controlled many women do fine, me included with my PCOS plus thyroid. Pls dont skip the thyroid medicine and keep testing as ur doctor says.
I have thyroid too and was worried about the same thing. My doctor said as long as its controlled before and during, it shouldnt stop me. It made me feel better, so maybe talk to urs and get levels checked.
Untreated thyroid can affect things, but treated and monitored it usually doesnt become a barrier. Get ur TSH checked and follow ur endo or gynac's advice. Its very manageable these days.
I had hypothyroid during both my pregnancies and still conceived and delivered fine. The key is keeping it controlled with the doctor's medicine and regular TSH tests. Uncontrolled thyroid is the real issue, so just stay on top of ur follow ups.
