Can i apply vikcs for joint pain during pregnancy?
My knees and kamar are paining a lot these days, im in 2nd trimester. I usually just rub Vicks and feel better but now scared if the smell or anything in it is ok for baby. Pls share if any of u used it.
My saas always told me to avoid strong balms like Vicks on large areas during pregnancy. Instead, she used to warm some mustard oil with garlic and gently massage my knees. It worked like magic and is completely safe.
I know how painful those joints can get, but since pregnancy is such a delicate time, we have to be careful. Try avoiding strong chemical balms like Vicks. Maybe try keeping your legs elevated or ask your doctor for a mild, safe solution.
With carrying twins, my knees were literally crying every day! Honestly, Vicks only has a strong smell but doesn't do much for actual joint pain. Ask your doc for a proper pregnancy-safe gel, or just use a warm compress.
I was so terrified of using anything external during my pregnancy. Please be very careful with strong balms as the ingredients get absorbed. It's always safest to call your doctor's clinic and ask before applying anything.
I had terrible ankle pain while managing my office shift. Vicks won't help much with deep joint pain anyway. Better to get a heating pad, do light stretching if your doc allows, and take your regular vitamins on time.
Vicks is generally fine for a mild headache, but for constant joint pain, it's better not to self-medicate or apply heavy balms. You should ask your gynac if she can recommend a safe ointment or check if you need calcium supplements.
