Im 5 months along and at home i keep needing to pick up things from the floor. Every time i bend down i get worried if its safe for baccha. is it ok to bend like this na?
Oh, I totally get why you'd ask this, I was so anxious about every little thing during my pregnancy. It's completely normal to worry if you're doing something wrong, believe me. Best to ask your gynac during your next visit, they can tell you what movements are safe for *you* specifically.
This is such a valid question, I remember Googling every single movement during my pregnancy! My gynac said as long as you feel comfortable and it's not a deep, strenuous bend, it should be fine. But if you feel any strain or pull in your tummy or back, stop immediately na. Always listen to your body first, it usually tells u everything.
Please be very careful with this. I had some complications in my pregnancy, and my doctor was very specific about certain movements to avoid. It's always best to get a direct answer from your own gynac, as every pregnancy is different and your body might react differently. Don't take any chances with something that could cause strain.
Bending? What's bending? By third trimester, my belly was so big, bending was practically an Olympic sport I couldn't participate in without falling! Seriously though, it gets harder and you have to be super slow and careful. I used to just ask my husband to pick up everything I dropped. 😂
Haha, main toh bas couch pe padi rehti thi aur husband ko bolti thi saare snacks laane. Bending ke liye toh sochti bhi nahi thi! Par agar kuch gir jaaye toh slowly, carefully, I'd try to pick it up like a grandma. Cravings are more important, no? 😉
Mere saas toh bolti thi ki jyaada jhukna mat, especially last trimester mein. Woh log bolte hain baby ko pressure padta hai. But honestly, thoda bohot toh kaam hota hi hai na ghar pe, I just used to be careful and slow. Kabhi kabhi choti moti cheezein uthani padti hain.
Generally, gentle bending from the knees, almost like a squat, is often considered okay if you need to pick something light up. The main concern is usually maintaining balance and not putting unnecessary strain on your back, not so much the hip joint itself. Avoid any sudden or deep bends that feel uncomfortable, always listen to your body.
I felt so much confusion about what was safe and what wasn't. For bending, I remember my doctor telling me to bend from the knees, like a squat, instead of bending at the waist. It felt safer and less strain on my belly and back as my bump grew. Just be gentle with yourself, everything takes time.
