i used to do prenatal yoga and butterfly pose feels really nice for my hips. im around 5 months now and just want to make sure its okay to continue. anyone doing it regularly?
Butterfly (titli asana) is actually one of the recommended ones in pregnancy, helps open hips. But I only started after my doc cleared me and I do it gently, no forcing the knees down. Check with yours first if you've any complications.
For me they restricted a lot because of my placenta position, so even simple poses I had to ask first. If your pregnancy is smooth its usually fine, but please get a yes from your doctor before starting any asana.
My MIL used to do this and told me to also. I checked with my prenatal yoga teacher who said its fine in normal pregnancy. Still I'd say confirm with your gynac just for peace of mind.
I did butterfly pose almost daily in my last trimester and honestly felt it helped with the normal delivery. Just keep it slow and stop if anything pulls. Loved it.
