Im 9 weeks and the smell of masala while cooking makes me feel like throwing up. My MIL says standing in kitchen for long is not good now but i still want to make my own food. Anyone else managing kitchen work in early months?
Of course you can cook, just dont stand for too long at a stretch and take breaks. Avoid heavy lifting of big vessels and watch the strong smells if they make you nauseous. Sit on a stool when you can.
Totally fine to cook babe, just dont overtire yourself standing for hours. Take it easy and sit when you can. Dont stress too much, it is normal daily stuff.
Cooking was fine for me except the smells triggered my nausea badly in the first trimester. I cooked simpler meals and kept the kitchen ventilated. Once the sickness passed I was back to normal cooking.
In my joint family I cooked through pregnancy, my saas just told me not to lift the heavy cooker and to rest in between. The elders helped with the tougher tasks. It was manageable with a little support.
