I used to do crunches as part of my workout before and now im 10 weeks. Not sure if I can continue or should completely stop ab exercises. Anyone who kept exercising, what did ur doc say?
From my experience, lying flat on your back to do crunches can reduce blood flow to the baby and strain your abs. It's much safer to do pelvic tilts or simple cat-cow stretches instead. Take it easy on your body, dear.
I just had my baby and my prenatal trainer strictly banned traditional crunches after 12 weeks to prevent ab separation (diastasis recti). Try standing core exercises or modified planks instead, they are much safer for the bump!
No need to do complicated gym exercises like crunches during pregnancy, it puts too much pressure on your tummy. Just a simple 20-30 minute walk morning and evening is more than enough to stay fit and healthy.
I think we should be very careful with abdominal pressure. Maybe trying gentle walking or soft stretching is a safer way to stay active during this time.
Please do not start or continue any heavy core exercises without checking with your gynac first. Every pregnancy is different, and only your doctor can tell you if it's safe for your cervix and placenta.
