My mom does parigaram at the temple regularly and wants me to come along. Im in first trimester though so im not sure if all that walking around is fine now. Anyone did it during pregnancy?
We also did some small prayers at home during my pregnancy for our mental peace, which was nice. But because of my high-risk PCOS history, I strictly avoided any parigaram that required standing for hours or fasting. It is always better to be cautious and avoid physical strain.
Look, faith is fine, but don't compromise your health for rituals. Fasting is a strict no during pregnancy, and standing in crowded temples can make you dizzy. If a parigaram is physically demanding, just don't do it right now, pray from home instead.
I think doing prayers brings a lot of positive energy and keeps you calm, which is great for a normal delivery! Just make sure you do not fast or exhaust yourself during the rituals. You can pray comfortably sitting on a chair and keep yourself hydrated.
Honestly, I am in my third trimester and walking from the bed to the bathroom feels like a parigaram in itself! If your ritual involves standing in long temple queues, please skip it or ask family to do it on your behalf. God will definitely understand that you are busy growing a human!
Doing simple prayers or pariharams at home is perfectly fine for peace of mind. However, if it involves traveling long distances, climbing steps, or fasting, please check with your doctor first. Your physical safety and the baby's health should always be the priority.
My elders in the family also suggested doing some pariharams to remove any obstacles. I did simple pujas sitting at home, but when it came to temple visits with big crowds, my gynac advised me to avoid it. You can do the rituals peacefully at home to keep everyone happy.
