I used to do small workouts before and want to stay a bit active. is calf raise type standing exercise safe? im in second tri, dont want to risk balance ya anything.
I just delivered last month and did calf raises right up to my 8th month. They really helped reduce the swelling in my ankles. Just make sure you have a wall to hold onto because your center of gravity changes completely and you can lose balance easily.
I am currently 24 weeks pregnant and I still do standing calf raises while holding onto a wall for support. It actually helps with my leg cramps so much! Does anyone else feel like their calves get super tight in the evenings?
They are completely free and safe to do at home, which is great because we don't need expensive gym classes. Just hold onto a sturdy door or chair for balance so you don't fall. Saving money on expensive prenatal fitness programs is always a win!
Standing calf raises are actually great for maintaining leg strength and circulation! I did them regularly near a wall or chair during my pregnancy, and keeping my legs strong really helped me stay active for my normal delivery. Just don't push too hard.
This is so interesting to read! I am planning to conceive soon and trying to build a safe workout routine. Is it safe to do calf raises throughout all three trimesters, or do we have to stop in the later months?
