I'm in my eighth month of pregnancy and sometimes I crave a cup of coffee. I know it's usually limited, but is it okay to have a small amount of coffee during the last trimester?
Haha, don't worry, u can definitely have your caffeine fix! Just don't drink a whole bucket of Starbucks daily or your baby will be doing bhangra inside your tummy at 2 AM. One small cup is absolutely fine and keeps the sanity alive.
When I was in my 8th month, I felt so guilty even thinking about coffee because of what people online say. But then I talked to my doctor and she reassured me that a small cup is harmless. I still remember that first sip of warm cappuccino, I felt so happy and relaxed.
I used to have one light cup of coffee even in my third trimester, and my baby was perfectly healthy. Now that I am breastfeeding, I still stick to that one-cup limit so it doesn't disturb my little one's sleep. Just enjoy your cup, it is totally fine in moderation.
According to all the tracker apps I used during my pregnancy, up to 200 mg of caffeine per day is totally fine. That is basically one small cup of home-brewed coffee. Just track your intake because tea and chocolates also have caffeine, u know!
Honestly, I am in my 8th month right now and if I don't get my daily morning coffee, I might sleep-walk into a wall! My gynac said one cup is perfectly safe. It is the only thing keeping this exhausted mama going, touchwood!
