I have a tub of protein x at home that i was taking before getting pregnant. My weight gain is on the lower side so i thought of continuing for some extra protein. Is it safe to take these powders now or should i stick to food only?
I was into protein shakes before but my doc told me to pause and get protein from food instead, like dal, paneer, eggs. She said only take a supplement if she recommends. So i asked first, you should too.
Please dont start any supplement powder on your own in pregnancy, even protein ones. Show the label to your gynac and let them decide. Some have added stuff that may not suit you.
Honestly dal, eggs, milk and curd give plenty of protein and cost way less than powders. I saved that money for tests and scans. But run any powder past your doctor before using.
