Arhar dal is our regular lunch at home but someone told me it causes heat. I am confused because dal is also protein na. Did you eat toor/arhar dal normally?
Yes of course, arhar dal (toor dal) is great during pregnancy. Its a good protein source and we eat it daily at home. My family always said dal-chawal is the safest meal. Just keep it light on oil and you're good.
Totally fine to eat. Dals give you protein which baby needs, and arhar is one of the easiest to digest. I had it almost everyday. If it makes you feel bloated add a little hing and jeera while cooking, helps the gas.
Beta arhar dal toh ghar ka simple bhojan hai, bilkul kha sakti ho. We always had it. Just make it well cooked and warm, and add thoda jeera tadka so it sits easy on the tummy. Nothing to worry about.
Dal is good, i had arhar regularly. Just be mindful of portions and pair it with veggies and roti, dont go overboard on rice with it. Protein from dal really helped me, but balance is the key.
