My mom made karela sabzi today and I was about to eat but my saas stopped me saying its not good in early pregnancy. Im only 7 weeks so thoda confused now. Anyone knows if its actually fine or should I avoid?
Actually, my gynac told me that while karela is nutritious, eating too much of it or its seeds can cause uterine contractions in the first trimester. A little bit of well-cooked karela sabzi once in a while is okay, but strictly avoid karela juice. It's always best to ask your own doc first about your diet.
Stay positive and keep praying, everything will be perfect. Regarding karela, it's safer to avoid it in early months, just eat normal soothing food. God bless u both, take care of your little one!
Honestly, it is better to avoid karela in the first few months, dear. Just eat simple, light home-cooked meals and keep yourself happy. Take care of your health!
Are yaar, shuruat me toh karela thoda avoid hi karo na. My MIL also used to say ki garam hota hai, and early pregnancy me risky ho sakta hai. Gynac se pooch lo ek baar, but simple bhindi ya aloo khao na abhi toh!
Look, it's better to avoid or eat very little. Why take risk and end up with extra hospital visits or expensive emergency scans? Early pregnancy is already costly with all those blood tests, so let's stick to safe veggies like bottle gourd for now.
Same question here, I am 8 weeks pregnant and was craving karela fry today! Is a tiny piece okay, or should I completely skip it till the second trimester? Anyone else who ate it and faced no issues?
