Im 7 weeks along and craving urad dal stuff lately, like dal makhani and idli. someone in family said black gram is heaty and to avoid in pregnancy. is that true yaar?
Black gram is a good protein source, I had it cooked well in dal and idli batter. Just keep it well cooked and in normal quantity. No issue both my pregnancies.
At home we make a lot of urad dal dishes and I ate them through my pregnancy. Amma always said it gives good strength. It was fine for me but everyone is different, so ask ur doctor if u have any condition.
