My mom keeps telling me to eat more greens for the baby and i have broccoli at home. But honestly i never ate it before so not sure if its good during pregnancy. is it safe and worth adding?
I worried about this too because raw veggies scared me whole pregnancy. But cooked broccoli is totally fine, my gynac even said its good for iron. Just dont eat it raw, soak and cook it properly and you'll be okay.
Yes dear, broccoli is good and nutritious. I would just steam it well and add it to dal or sabzi so its easy to digest. Wash the florets carefully in salt water, that is what my doctor advised.
Yes broccoli is great in pregnancy, full of folate and iron. Just cook it well and wash properly since it can trap dirt in the florets. I used to lightly steam it so it didnt cause too much gas.
Broccoli is healthy yes, but warning, in my first trimester even the smell of it cooking made me nauseous. If you can stomach it, great, steam it light. If it gives gas try smaller amounts, helped me.
