Im 7 weeks and craving chowmein bohot zyada lately, the street wala one specially. But im scared about the maida and ajinomoto and all. Is it ok occasionally or should i avoid?
No need to spend on expensive restaurant food when you crave noodles. Just buy a pack of normal Hakka noodles, boil it ghar pe, and add lots of fresh cabbage and carrots. It is super cheap, clean, and satisfies the craving safely.
Look, once in a while it is totally fine, but don't make it a daily habit. Outside chowmein has ajinomoto and cheap oils which aren't good for the baby. If you crave it, just make a healthy version at home with lots of veggies.
I know how hard it is when you can't digest anything, and sometimes only spicy noodles feel good. If chowmein is the only thing you can keep down right now, go ahead and eat a small portion. Just ensure it is freshly made and hot so it doesn't upset your stomach.
Be very careful with street food like chowmein because maida can suddenly spike your blood sugar levels. I had gestational diabetes and had to completely avoid refined flour. If you must eat, try to make wheat noodles at home with minimal sauce.
Honestly, I had massive street food cravings during my second trimester and ate chowmein quite a few times! My baby is perfectly healthy. Just make sure you buy it from a hygienic place to avoid stomach infections.
