My mom keeps making murungai keerai and says its very good for iron. Im in second trimester and my hb is bit low so she wants me to have it daily. Just checking if its safe to eat regularly now.
Beta the leaves cooked properly are good, full of iron and calcium. But dont take it in heavy medicine like quantity or as some concentrated powder, just as normal sabzi. In food amount it is fine.
As a regular cooked dish its considered healthy and full of nutrients. The caution I read was about very large or supplement doses, so just eat it as food and you are good. Confirm with ur doc if unsure.
Drumstick leaves are very common in our cooking and amma made murungai keerai for iron. In normal cooked amounts its nutritious. I still mentioned it to my doctor once and she was fine with it.
