Im a total farsan person, sev gathiya all of it, and now im 5 months pregnant. Suddenly craving it badly but my mom says avoid too much fried stuff. Is it ok in small amount? what do u all do.
Yaar I was eating farsan all through my pregnancy, sev and gathiya were my biggest weakness honestly. Just don't go overboard because it's actually quite oily and salty. Once in a while as a snack is totally fine.
Beta in my time we always had a little chivda or sev with tea, it's not harmful as such. But too much oily food can cause gas and heartburn, so take a little. Roast variety is better than deep fried if you can find.
Don't even ask me, farsan cravings were real in my second trimester. I told myself a handful is okay and stuck to that mostly. The salt made my feet swell a bit so I cut it down later.
It's not unsafe but it's just empty calories and lot of sodium. I used to balance it with fruits and nuts so I didn't feel guilty. If you have any BP or swelling, best to ask your doctor what amount is fine for you.
I had to be careful with farsan because of my sugar issue, it's mostly fried and salty na. If your sugar and BP are normal then small portions should be ok, but please confirm with your gynac once. For me they told me to cut down on these fried namkeen completely.
Eat it but in a small bowl, not the whole packet. Too much fried stuff gives acidity and water retention later. I had it as evening chai snack both pregnancies and was fine.
