My mom made methi paratha and i had it without thinking, then later read somewhere that methi might not be good in pregnancy. Now im a little worried. Is methi safe in normal cooking amounts?
Methi in small amounts in your dal or sabzi is normal beta, we all eat it. But the methi seeds in large quantity or methi supplements, that you should ask your doctor about, dont take heavy doses on your own.
I just ate it the normal way it comes in food and didnt make a separate thing out of it. Cant say about the medicinal use, your doctor will know that part better.
My doctor told me normal cooking amount of fenugreek is okay, the worry is only with large medicinal doses which some people take. So methi paratha or methi sabzi sometimes, no problem. Just dont go overboard with seeds soaked in water daily without asking.
A little methi in cooking is fine, but I'd be careful with concentrated methi water or capsules during pregnancy. I always asked my gynac before adding any such thing. Better safe na.
Haan thodi si methi sabzi mein chalti hai na, I ate it. But sun, jyada matra mein mat lo, especially seeds, woh garam hoti hai. Doctor se confirm kar lena.
