I love spicy food yaar, my khana feels incomplete without hari mirch. Now im in 2nd trimester and MIL keeps saying spicy is bad for baccha. Is thoda green chilli really ok or should i fully avoid?
Haan, kha sakte ho bilkul but thoda control me rakhna, zyada teekha khaoge toh severe acidity ho jayegi na. Honestly, I used to put just one slit chilli in my tadka for flavour rather than eating it raw. Excess of anything is bad, so enjoy but in limit!
Honestly, I was so scared of everything after my past experience, so I completely avoided raw green chillies and only ate very mild home food. If your stomach is happy and you don't feel any discomfort, a little bit is fine, but please check with your doctor if you feel even slightly uneasy. Safety first, always take care.
I used to love spicy food during my pregnancy, but I kept the green chillies very mild because it can trigger really bad acidity later on. Better to have it in moderation dear, just to be safe for your tummy. Your digestion gets so sensitive during these months, so listen to your body.
When I was at my parents' place, my mum used to make special mild green chilli pickle for me because I had crazy spicy cravings. She always said as long as you don't get heartburn or gas, a little bit of green chilli in your food is perfectly fine. Just don't overdo it, stay comfortable.
Mere ghar pe toh saas and mummy both allowed me to eat normal food with normal green chilli, but they always warned me not to eat raw ones on the side. Too much spice can give you stomach heat and burning. Better to add very little in veggies rather than eating it separately.
