Im in my second trimester and we use hing in almost every dal and sabzi at home. My mom said its fine but my MIL is telling me to avoid it. Now im confused, is it actually safe?
Beta, hing in small cooking amount is okay and it actually helps digestion and gas. We've used it for generations. But don't take it like a heavy remedy on its own, just normal tadka quantity is fine.
A little hing in cooking is generally fine, we use it daily in dal and sabzi at home. My amma always added a pinch and said it helps with gas. Just keep it in normal cooking amounts and not in big quantity, and if you're unsure mention it to your gynac.
My MIL puts hing in almost everything and she insisted it's good for gas during pregnancy. I had it normally and was fine. Still, for anything you're worried about, a quick word with the doc settles it.
