We make kollu/horsegram rasam quite often at ghar. Now that im expecting im second guessing everything in my diet. Is it fine to continue or should i avoid?
I avoided horsegram completely during my pregnancy because of its heaty nature, as I wanted to be extra cautious with my history. Please ask your doctor once to be safe.
Oh, I read somewhere that horsegram can cause issues if eaten too much! I got so scared and stopped eating it altogether, maybe check with your gynac first?
Uff, my brain is fried from no sleep, but I remember eating horsegram soup sometimes. Just don't eat it daily since elders say it generates body heat, moderation is key!
Beta, horsegram (kulthi) is very heat-producing for the body. It is better to avoid it in the first trimester, and later on, you can have a little bit of it cooked well.
I couldn't digest heavy pulses like horsegram at all because of my severe nausea. If you really want to eat it, try it in very small quantities to see if your stomach tolerates it.
