Im a non veg person and now that im pregnant my MIL stopped serving me any meat saying its not good now. Im in my first trimester and missing it tbh. is it actually fine to eat or should i cut it?
Yes you can, just make sure it's fully cooked properly, no half raw or undercooked stuff. I ate chicken and egg through both pregnancies, good for protein. Avoid the roadside thoda, hygiene matters more than the meat itself.
My doctor said lean meat, chicken, fish are great for protein and iron in pregnancy. She told me to avoid high mercury fish and anything undercooked. Wash hands, cook fully, that's the main rule she gave.
In our family they said no non veg in first three months but my gynac said that's just custom, fully cooked meat is fine. I balanced it, had it cooked well and felt okay. Do ask your doctor about your own iron levels.
Actually meat is totally fine yaar, just cook it well done. I was craving mutton in my second trimester and my gynac said no problem, only fresh and cooked thoroughly. Skip the raw seafood type stuff na.
