Been craving methi parathas a lot lately but my MIL said methi should be avoided during pregnancy. Now im second guessing every meal lol. Is it actually fine to eat in normal amounts? anyone else had it?
My MIL made methi paratha for me often in pregnancy, she said it's good and warming. Cooked methi in food is fine, it's only the concentrated fenugreek seeds in large amounts that elders sometimes caution about. As an occasional meal it's lovely and healthy.
Cooked methi in a paratha is absolutely okay, it's just a leafy vegetable after all. My family ate all kinds of greens during pregnancy. If you have any specific condition like blood sugar you could mention to your doctor, but as normal food, go ahead and enjoy it.
Oh methi paratha with curd was my go-to craving meal, so comforting. Cooked in regular amounts it's perfectly fine and tasty. Just dont eat five in one sitting like I wanted to, ha. Moderation and you're good.
Yes, cooked methi in normal food amounts like a paratha is totally fine and actually nutritious. The thing people warn about is huge medicinal doses of fenugreek, not your regular methi paratha. I ate it through both pregnancies, no issue. Just dont overdo it daily in massive quantity.
