My mom keeps making palak sabzi saying its good for iron now that im expecting. But i read somewhere too much of certain greens isnt good so im a little confused. How often did u all have palak during pregnancy?
Yes and it's such a cheap way to get iron and folate, way better than fancy stuff. I used to buy a bunch and add to dal, sabzi, parathas. Clean it well since leafy veg holds mud. Good for your hemoglobin too.
Yes palak is great, full of iron and folate which you need now. Just wash it really well and cook it properly, raw leafy stuff can carry germs. I ate palak dal and sabzi all through both pregnancies.
Yes yes palak paneer was my comfort food the whole time, haha. It's healthy and iron rich. Just clean the leaves properly and cook well, then enjoy without guilt.
Of course ma, greens are good for you and baby. My mother made sure I had palak and other saag regularly for iron. Wash it nicely and cook it well, that's all. My doctor was happy I was eating greens.
