My mother told me to avoid papaya during pregnancy, especially raw papaya. Is it true that I cannot eat papaya, even the ripe one, during my first trimester?
In my first trimester, I had a massive craving for papaya, but my family literally locked it away! Unripe papaya is risky anyway, so I just ignored my cravings. Better to be safe than sorry!
Since I had thyroid issues, I was already on regular follow-ups and my doctor strictly advised against papaya. Please check with your gynac during your routine visits about your diet.
I had bleeding issues in my first trimester, so my doctor strictly asked me to avoid papaya completely. Please don't take any risk with this, it is always safest to talk to your gynac about what to avoid.
It is much safer to completely avoid papaya in the first trimester, whether ripe or unripe. There are so many other safe fruits like apples and bananas that you can eat instead, so why take the risk?
Absolutely not, especially unripe papaya has latex which can cause uterine contractions. Just don't eat it at all during these early months. Stay safe and stick to other fruits.
Personally, I didn't touch papaya throughout my entire pregnancy because everyone at home said it can be unsafe. I just preferred to stay on the safer side and ate apples and oranges instead.
Skip the papaya for now, sweetie! 🙅♀️ Unripe papaya is definitely a no-no during the first trimester. You have so many other delicious fruits to enjoy safely! 🍎
With my twin pregnancy, I was extra paranoid, and papaya was the first thing I removed from the grocery list. Seriously, unripe papaya can cause contractions, so just skip it for a few months.
Actually yaar, raw or semi-ripe papaya has papain which can be dangerous in early pregnancy. It's totally not worth the risk, so just avoid it completely for now.
