I love pineapple, but I've heard different things about eating it during pregnancy. Is it safe for me to eat pineapple while pregnant, especially in moderation? I'm just trying to be careful with my diet.
I'm so heavy and tired in my 3rd trimester that I'd eat a whole tree if I could! A few slices of pineapple are totally fine, just don't eat a mountain of it.
In our families, elders strictly say no to pineapple as it is 'hot' for the body. But my doctor said a slice or two once in a while is harmless. I'd say trust your doctor over old myths.
My gynac explained that pineapple contains bromelain which in massive quantities can soften the cervix, but eating a few normal pieces occasionally is perfectly safe. Avoid concentrated pineapple juice though.
I ate pineapple chunks throughout my pregnancy in moderation, and my toddler is perfectly healthy and running around now. Don't worry too much about every little fruit, just eat in limit!
I felt so much craving for pineapple in my second trimester, but I was terrified to touch it because of what relatives said. When I finally asked my doctor and had a slice, I felt so happy and relieved!
