My MIL made khus khus paste in the gravy today and i suddenly stopped, not sure if its okay during pregnancy. Anyone been told its fine or to avoid? im 4 months.
We use khus khus in many of our dishes and it's totally fine in normal amounts. My mother used it in kurma and sweets even during my pregnancy. As cooking ingredient it's safe, just dont overdo.
In cooking amounts poppy seeds are absolutely fine, it's used in so many Indian dishes. I had it in gravies and never had an issue. Just keep it to culinary use, not spoonfuls plain.
Khus khus is used in our cooking a lot, in gravies and sweets, and in those normal cooking amounts it's fine. We always added it to dishes. Just dont eat it in huge quantities, a normal recipe amount is safe.
