Trying to eat healthier now and someone suggested quinoa for protein. But i never had it before pregnancy so just want to be sure its safe to add now. Do any of u eat it regularly these days?
Quinoa is healthy but a bit costly here na. I had it sometimes and used daliya or oats on other days, which are cheaper and also good. Nutrition wise you have options, dont feel you must buy expensive grains.
Yes, quinoa is actually great in pregnancy, its a good protein and has iron and fibre too. I used to add it to my salads and even khichdi style. Just cook it well and rinse it first. A nice healthy swap for rice sometimes.
I love quinoa, it kept me full and is good clean protein during pregnancy. Paired it with veggies and a walk after, felt great. Totally safe when cooked properly, just dont have it raw or undercooked.
