I know everyone says no to papaya but i always read its the raw/green one thats the issue. The ripe sweet one that we eat as fruit, is that also a no? Craving it badly in this heat yaar.
My saasu maa strictly said no papaya at all during pregnancy. Doctor told me ripe one occasionally is okay but raw is a no. To keep peace at home I just skipped it, ha ha.
Ripe is generally fine, its the green unripe papaya everyone warns about because of the enzymes. I avoided papaya altogether both times just for peace of mind. Your call, but ask gynac if unsure.
I would say be a little careful with this one. Ripe papaya is supposed to be safer than raw, but since there is so much mixed advice I personally checked with my gynac before eating it. Better to ask than worry later.
The thing to avoid is raw or unripe papaya beta, that one is the worry in old advice. Properly ripe papaya in small amount is usually considered okay. But every body is different so just check with your doctor to be safe.
