Craving imli so badly these days, like i cant stop thinking about it haha. Im in my 3rd month and my MIL says too much tamarind is not good now. Is it really a problem or can i have a little?
Haan u can, in normal cooking quantity its fine. I ate it both pregnancies. Only thing, too much raw imli can cause acidity for some, so dont go crazy with it. Otherwise no issue.
We use imli in so many dishes, rasam, sambar, all the time during pregnancy, totally normal here. Small amounts are fine. My mother said dont overdo only. If u have acidity issues, then go easy and ask ur doctor.
Tamarind itself is fine in cooking, just watch out for the sweet imli candies that have loads of sugar. Plain imli in dishes is okay. If u have any sugar concerns, keep it light and confirm with ur doctor.
Beta, a little tamarind in food is fine, we always used it in cooking. It even helps with that sour craving and nausea some get. Just dont eat it in huge amounts raw, everything in moderation na.
Honestly during my bad nausea phase a little tangy imli was the only thing that settled my stomach! Small amounts helped me. Just dont eat a whole lot at once or it gave me acidity.
