My sister's wedding is coming up, and it requires air travel. I'm in my first trimester, and I'm not sure if it's safe to fly during early pregnancy. Has anyone flown during their first trimester, and did you face any issues?
My MIL was totally against me flying in the first trimester, and honestly, the doctor also said only if it's an emergency. Better to avoid it if possible.
If your doctor allows it, flying is generally safe, just remember to keep stretching your legs and walking down the aisle. Ask your doctor about wearing compression socks too.
I know how stressful it is to plan things in early pregnancy when everything feels so new. Please ask your gynac first to make sure there are no complications before you fly.
Looking back, I traveled in my second month because of some work and it went fine. Just make sure your doctor gives the green light first and keep your file handy.
I called my hospital's desk and they got me a written travel fit certificate from my gynac before I booked my flight. You should check with your hospital too.
