My MIL keeps adding sonth to everything saying its good for digestion. Im 10 weeks and not sure if dry ginger is okay in this much quantity during pregnancy. anyone checked with their doc about this?
I'd say a pinch here and there is generally okay, but I'm always careful so I checked with my doc. Better to confirm with yours too, especially if you're on any meds. Don't want to assume for everyone.
We use dry ginger in rasam at home and it never gave me any trouble. In moderation it's calming for the tummy. Still, if you are using it like a medicine for some symptom, run it by ur doctor first.
Sonth thoda sa is fine beta, our elders used a pinch for nausea. But just a little, not in big amounts daily. Ek baar apni doctor se bhi pooch lo since every pregnancy is different.
My gynac said small amounts of ginger, dry or fresh, can actually help with morning sickness. She just told me not to overdo it. So a little in tea or food is okay, large doses better to avoid.
