I used to jog every morning before pregnancy and i really miss it. Im around 10 weeks now. Is it okay to continue light running or should i switch to walking only? would love to hear from active mommas.
If you were already a runner before and your pregnancy is low risk, some women do continue gentle running early on, but only with the doctor's green light. I switched to brisk walking and prenatal yoga to be safe, felt great honestly.
Depends a lot on whether you ran before and your stage. I personally stopped running and did walking instead, less impact and felt safer especially later. Definitely check with your gynac before continuing, dont start fresh running now.
I'd be a bit careful with running. With my pregnancy the doctor told me to stick to walking only. Each case differs so please ask your own gynac, and stop immediately if you feel cramps, bleeding or breathlessness.
Low impact exercise is encouraged in pregnancy, but high impact running is something to clear with your doctor first, it depends on your fitness and any risks. Walking, swimming and prenatal yoga are safer alternatives most gynacs suggest.
