Can i sit down with cross legged during pregnancy?
I sit cross legged on the floor a lot, specially while eating or doing pooja. my MIL said its not good in pregnancy. is there any truth to it? im 4 months along.
Beta we always sat on the floor cross legged, its good for the body. Just keep a cushion for support and get up slowly so you dont feel giddy. If your knees or back hurt, sit on a chair instead, no need to force.
My prenatal yoga instructor actually encouraged the cross legged sukhasana pose, it opens up the pelvis. But she said do it only as long as comfortable and dont strain. Check with your own doc if you have any back or hip issues.
Yes its fine, sitting cross legged is actually good for the hips and many say it helps in normal delivery. Just dont stay in one position too long and change if your legs go numb. I sat like that all the time, no problem.
We eat sitting on the floor cross legged at home and I continued during pregnancy, my doctor saw no issue. It felt natural and comfy. Just listen to your body and shift when you need to.
