My workplace is quite close, and I usually go by bike (two-wheeler). Now that I'm pregnant, I'm unsure if it's safe for me to continue sitting on the bike. Is it okay or should I avoid it?
My parents absolutely refused to let me sit on a bike because of the bad roads and bumps. They preferred I take an auto or cab very slowly. It is better to avoid it for the baby's safety, especially in the first trimester.
For small errands, walking is much safer and actually healthy if your doctor permits. But for bikes, please consult your gynac first because sudden bumps can cause severe cramps or even spotting, which needs immediate medical checkup.
I totally understand the worry of commuting daily, it's so stressful! I used to get panic attacks thinking about bikes on our roads. If it's giving you anxiety, please swap to a safer mode of transport for your peace of mind.
I lost my first pregnancy and after that, I became extremely protective. Please, I beg you, avoid sitting on bikes. The risk of falling or a sudden jerk on a pothole is just not worth it.
I had a very smooth, normal delivery, but even then I avoided bikes after my 5th month. If you absolutely must ride, sit straight (not sideways) and ask the rider to go extremely slow. But avoiding is always safer!
Since I had a history of PCOS, getting pregnant was a long journey and we didn't want to take any chances. My doctor advised avoiding two-wheelers entirely to prevent any accidental jerks. It's better to be extra cautious.
I had mild spotting early on, so my doctor completely banned two-wheelers for me. Indian roads are full of sudden bumps and potholes which can be very risky. Please ask your gynac before deciding.
I am 4 months pregnant now and my husband sometimes has to take me on his bike for short vegetable runs. We go extremely slow, but I still get nervous about the potholes. Is anyone else still riding pillion?
I had a C-section and let me tell you, even post-delivery, riding on a bike was painful for weeks. During pregnancy, the jerks can strain your lower back and abdomen badly. If you have any other option like a car, choose that.
