At home we mostly sit on those small patle for eating and kitchen work. Now that im pregnant my mom keeps telling me not to. Is sitting low actually a problem or is it just one of those old sayings?
My MIL told me to avoid the low patla for long sitting, said it puts pressure on the tummy. I used a chair for cooking prep instead. Old advice but it did keep my back comfortable honestly.
In early pregnancy its fine, but as the bump grows a low stool strains your back and pelvis a lot. I switched to a proper chair by the second trimester. Getting up from a low stool also becomes risky for balance, so be careful.
My doc said short sitting is okay but avoid prolonged squatting type postures, especially later, as it strains the pelvic area and can make you dizzy when getting up. She suggested a chair with back support for daily work. Listen to your body if it feels uncomfortable.
