Im 22 weeks and i mostly fall asleep on my back without realising, then wake up worried. My mom keeps telling me to sleep on left side only. Is back sleeping really a problem at this stage? pls share.
My amma kept telling me side sleeping is best, left side especially for baby. Doctor said the same thing actually. In the first few months dont stress about position too much, it matters more later.
Haha by third trimester sleeping on your back feels like balancing a watermelon on your tummy anyway, your body wont let you. Side it is, with 5 pillows around you like a fort.
My tracker app reminded me about this around week 20. SOS rule someone told me, sleep on side. Left is ideal but if you flip to right thats also okay, just avoid flat on back for long stretches later on.
I felt so guilty when I'd wake up on my back in second trimester! My gynac said dont panic, your body usually wakes you if something feels off. After that I just kept a pillow on one side and slept way better.
Early on its fine, but once your bump grows my doc told me to switch to the left side. Back sleeping later puts pressure on a big vein and you can feel dizzy. Keep a pillow behind you so you dont roll back.
