Im a back sleeper since always and now in 2nd trimester everyone says sleep on side only. Honestly straight sleeping is the only way I feel comfortable. Is it really harmful or thoda thoda is ok?
Haan, shuru ke months me toh directly so sakte ho, koi issue nahi hai. But jaise hi bump bada hone lage, standard advice is to sleep on the left side, na. Left side sleeping is actually best for baby's nutrition.
I just delivered my baby a month ago, and honestly, the side-sleeping struggle is real! After 20 weeks, sleeping straight made me feel very breathless and my gynac strictly told me to sleep on my left. A pregnancy C-pillow was my absolute lifesaver.
I totally understand how difficult it is to get a good night's sleep when you are nurturing a tiny life inside you. Sleeping on your left side is the gentlent way to make sure your sweet baby gets the best blood flow. Try using some extra soft pillows for support.
I completely get why you are asking, I used to wake up in a panic every time I found myself on my back! In the early months, it is absolutely fine to sleep straight. But as your bump grows, try to sleep on your left side as it is safer for the baby's blood flow.
It is so hard to find a comfortable position when your body is changing so much! In the first trimester, you can sleep however you like. But later on, sleeping on your side is much better for the baby. Put a soft pillow between your knees, it really helps!
