My MIL makes fresh amla juice every morning and wants me to have it for immunity. Im in first tri and slightly cautious about everything i put in my mouth right now. Anyone been having amla through pregnancy?
Amla is very good beta, full of vitamin C, our elders always recommended it. A fresh amla or a little homemade amla in food is fine. Just avoid those concentrated amla supplements without asking your doctor.
Fresh amla in normal food amounts is totally fine and actually good for immunity and digestion. I had it as murabba sometimes. Just dont go for heavy amla juice or churan on an empty stomach, it can cause acidity.
At home we used amla a lot, my mother said it helps with iron absorption. I ate it as a small piece with salt. As food it's lovely, just for any tablet form check with your gynac first.
Natural amla is one of my favourites in pregnancy, good vitamin C and helps with cold too. Just keep quantity normal. If you have acidity issues or take any churan, run it by the doctor.
