Someone in the family suggested these antioxidant tablets saying they are good for me and baby. But i dont want to take anything without checking. Im in my second trimester. Did anyone here take such tablets, did ur doc allow it?
Dont self prescribe supplements yaar. Your doctor already gives the needed vitamins, and extra ones can sometimes do more harm than good. Take the bottle to your next visit and ask before adding anything.
My doctor told me only to take what she prescribed, like folic acid, iron and calcium, and not add random supplements i read about online. She said some antioxidants in high doses arent advised in pregnancy. So definitely run it by your doctor first.
I had a few supplements before pregnancy due to PCOS, but once pregnant my doctor reviewed all of them and stopped some. So please dont assume whats good before is good now. Let your gynac check the exact tablet, every case is different.
Please dont start any tablet on your own in pregnancy, even supplements. Some are fine, some are not in certain amounts. Show the exact tablet to your gynac and let her decide. I always cleared everything with mine before taking.
