My throat infection is back and the doc earlier had given me azithromycin before i knew i was pregnant. Im 9 weeks now and scared to take anything. Did anyone take this in pregnancy, will ask my gynac also but wanted to know.
I was prescribed an antibiotic once in pregnancy but only after my doctor confirmed it was a safe one for my situation. Never self prescribe these. Whatever infection you have, let the gynac choose the right medicine and dose.
Antibiotics in pregnancy are very much a doctor decision, not something to pick up from a pharmacy yourself. Some are okay, some are not, and it depends on your stage and condition. Just ring your gynac, they will sort it out quickly.
Please do not take azithromycin or any antibiotic on your own during pregnancy. Some antibiotics are used in pregnancy but only when a doctor decides it is needed and safe for you. Call your gynac before taking anything, even common medicines.
