I usually take a collagen supplement for my skin and hair, but now that I'm pregnant, I'm not sure if it's safe to continue. Does anyone know if collagen is safe to consume during pregnancy?
Beta, ye sab powder wali cheezein abhi mat khao. Hamari dadi-nani kehti hain ki pregnancy me ghar ka achha khana, dahi aur doodh hi sabse badhiya hota hai. Apne doctor se pooche bina koi bhi dabba mat khareedna.
I asked my doctor about collagen during my pregnancy and she strictly said no to cosmetic supplements. She advised me to stick to normal prenatal vitamins and a healthy diet instead. Better to wait till your baby is born!
Skip the collagen supplements for now. There is very little research on their safety during pregnancy. Focus on your basic prenatal vitamins prescribed by your gynac and save the skincare supplements for later.
Instead of taking collagen powders, try eating natural protein-rich foods like paneer, dals, and nuts which help build collagen naturally. If you still want to take supplements, please check with your doctor first.
I actually wanted to start collagen for my stretch marks but my doctor advised against it. Did anyone else get recommended a safe natural alternative by their gynac? I'm just using simple coconut oil on my skin for now.
Please be extremely careful with supplements like collagen. After my past experience, I learned that everything we consume goes directly to the baby. It’s really not worth taking any beauty supplements unless your gynac specifically clears it.
